We are kicking off the year with an array of outdoor festivals and exciting entertainment, January is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the marvelous weather, there's much to keep us all busy this month!
We start off 2017 with our magnificent fireworks display over Biscayne Bay and in January right on the heels of the holiday season, some fantastic festivals await.
This month's top events include the Art Deco Weekend, the Miami Lantern Light Festival, Cirque Du Soleil Kurios is in town as well as the Shen Yun Performing Arts, the world's premier classical Chinese dance company.
Sports fans won't be dissapointed, the Miami Heat, the Dolphins and the Florida Panthers are well underway on their regular seasons and for runners and fans, the Miami Marathon is here, don't miss the stunning course with even more stunning sights.
For kids and families, the Circus is in town!
For our nature lovers, this is the perfect time to get out and soak it all up, our State and National Parks are teeming with wildlife, enjoy!

Art Deco Weekend - January 13-15, 2017
Hosted by the Miami Design Preservation League, the Art Deco Weekend is a tribute to the Art Deco era and involves a series of top notch events over this three-day weekend including Classic Cars, the Parade, Fashion Shows, children's performances, Films and Lectures, Live Music, Antiques, Street Festivals and more.
In addition, the League sponsors an array of great specialty tours offered uniquely during the weekend.

Miami Lantern Light Festival
A spectacular evening of dazzling lights, colors, shapes, and themes.
The Lantern Light festival is a six week celebration of Chinese culture featuring massive lanterns, inspiring performances, and incredible cuisine.
Each Chinese lantern is custom-built by Chinese artisans and typically takes four weeks and a team of seven to complete.
The lanterns are handmade from hundreds of pieces of silky cloth. Some are over 30 feet high and others are up to 300 feet long.

Fairchild's International Chocolate Festival
Calling all chocolate lovers! This weekend is all about chocolate at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens.
Featuring cooking demonstrations and samplings as well as lots of activities for kids, learn how chocolate is made and hundreds of ways to cook with chocolate.
When? Friday to Sunday January 20-22, 2017 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

If you love gymnastics and ice skating, this is your event. Who's in town? Gold medallist gymnast Simone Biles, Olympics and World Champion figure-skating team Meryl Davis and Charlie White and figure-skating legend Nancy Kerrigan. Hosting the event: a who's who of champions, figure skaters Kristi Yamaguchi and Michael Weiss and gymnasts Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner.

The Miami Marathon and Half-Marathon
A fantastic weekend of running events that culminate with the renowned Miami Marathon on the final day. 25,000 runners, a beautiful course, fantastic views, electric atmosphere! Runners and spectators alike will enjoy what has to be one of the most stunning courses, passing along some of Miami's favorite hotspots: Port of Miami, Art Deco District, the MacArthur Causeway...
There is also a Half Marathon or Tropical 5K and Kids Run.
When? Sunday January 29, 2017 starts 6:00 am
Where? Start point is American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami.

La Feria del Mercado de San Miguel
Madrid's historic Mercado de San Miguel comes back to Miami! Tapas, ham, paella, gazpacho, gambas, fish... and a tinto de verano to wash it all down...
Selected Spanish chefs and vendors will set up kiosks and small carts at the wide open air area in Bayfront Park, recreating the atmosphere of this beloved food market.

The largest Christmas-Themed Amusement Park and Carnival is back on its 26th year with its 3 million lights, 92" christmas tree, and the carnival rides for little ones and those wanting a little more extreme.
Located in the heart of Miami in Tropical Park, you will no doubt see the lights from the highway as you drive past.
It is a huge sprawling lively event, just coming to see the lights is worth the trip. Tons of entertainment for kids and families round it all up. There are the many live shows, games, magic acts, mazes, all sorts of rides, from carrousels to roller coasters and drop towers and of course, the carnival food!

Family Fun Fest is a FREE program at Biscayne National Park brought to you thanks to the many volunteers and park sponsors. It is held on the second Sunday of the month during the "dry and cool" season, December through April with lots of fun and educational activities for kids and adults alike.

The Circus is in town! with an All-New show. Jam-packed with entertainment and jaw-dropping acts, this is an amazing spectacle that certainly does justice to their motto "The Greatest Show on Earth"™.
