We are kicking off the year with an array of outdoor festivals and exciting entertainment, January is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the marvelous weather, there's much to keep us all busy this month!
We start off 2018 with our magnificent fireworks display over Biscayne Bay and in January right on the heels of the holiday season, some fantastic festivals await.
This month's top events include the Art Deco Weekend and International Chocolate Festival. In the entertainment sphere, Cirque Du Soleil Volta is in town as well as Riverdance and the Shen Yun Performing Arts, the world's premier classical Chinese dance company. Unfortunately Shakira's El Dorado Tour has been postponed until August 2018.
Sports fans won't be dissapointed, the Miami Heat and the Florida Panthers are well underway on their regular seasons and for runners and fans, the Miami Marathon is here, don't miss the stunning course with even more stunning sights.
For our nature lovers, this is the perfect time to get out and soak it all up, our State and National Parks are teeming with wildlife, enjoy!
Hosted by the Miami Design Preservation League, the Art Deco Weekend is a tribute to the Art Deco era and involves a series of top notch events over this three-day weekend including Classic Cars, the Parade, Fashion Shows, children's performances, Films and Lectures, Live Music, Antiques, Street Festivals and more.
In addition, the League sponsors an array of great specialty tours offered uniquely during the weekend.

How Much? Most of the events at the Art Deco Weekend are FREE, with the exception of the Specialty Tours.

A jazz festival unlike any other, the South Beach Jazz Festival will take pride in featuring talented musicians with disabilities.
This first edition will take place throughout various venues on Miami Beach, and will be a combination of ticketed concerts as well as free performances open to the public.
When? Friday through Sunday January 5 - 7, 2018
Where? Several venues. Performances will take place at the Colony Theatre and on stages set up throughout Lincoln Road.

Calling all chocolate lovers! This weekend is all about chocolate at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens.
Featuring cooking demonstrations and samplings as well as lots of activities for kids, learn how chocolate is made and hundreds of ways to cook with chocolate.

A fantastic weekend of running events that culminate with the renowned Miami Marathon on the final day. 25,000 runners, a beautiful course, fantastic views, electric atmosphere! Runners and spectators alike will enjoy what has to be one of the most stunning courses, passing along some of Miami's favorite hotspots: Port of Miami, Art Deco District, the MacArthur Causeway...
There is also a Half Marathon or Tropical 5K and Kids Run.

Family Fun Fest is a FREE program at Biscayne National Park brought to you thanks to the many volunteers and park sponsors. It is held on the second Sunday of the month during the "dry and cool" season, December through April with lots of fun and educational activities for kids and adults alike.
