About our sea turtles and nesting on South Florida beaches
Sea turtle nesting season is here, if you are heading out to the beaches, please pay attention to nesting areas, they will be ropped off and clearly marked, avoid getting near these areas or trampling on the eggs!
Sea turtles nest mostly after dark, females emerge from the water in search for a spot to lay their eggs. They need their peace and quiet, give them a wide berth.
It is against the law to disturb turtles, nesting or otherwise, their eggs and their hatchlings!

Florida Supercon - The Largest Comic Con in South Florida - July 1 - 4, 2016

Fairchild's International Mango Festival - July 9 and 10, 2016
Everything mango at this fun and lively festival: mangos for sale, mango cuisine, mango tastings, mango lectures, mango workshops, hard-to-find mangos, mango auctions, mango merchandise, mango art, mango brunches, and of course, the world's largest display of mangos.

Miami Spice Iron Fork Kick Off Event
July 28, 2016
The Miami New Times' Iron Fork Culinary Competition and Tasting event is the kick-off event to this year's Miami Spice.
Competing for the Iron Fork Award will be two of the region's finest chefs, each starting off with a basket of foodstuffs to create their own magic in front of a panel of local celebrity chefs.
In addition to admission to this culinary extravaganza, Iron Fork will allow visitors to sample goods from more than 70 restaurants. Many of which are participating in Miami Spice, a great way to get to sample from the best of the best in Miami cuisine and decide what to enjoy for the next two months at considerable savings.

Sea Turtle Nesting and Release Program, July 21 - August 27, 2016
This is a fantastic program conducted by Miami Dade Parks which aims to educate the public about the plight of the sea turtles.
Our beaches are one of the largest nesting grounds for sea turtles every year. Nesting and hatching season is from May through October, when the parks are actively engaged in protecting them.
Come and learn about their activities, the life of the turtles, the constant threats, and then come out to the beach and watch the hatchlings as they are released and quickly dash across the sand and into the ocean.
