We are kicking off the year with an array of outdoor festivals and exciting entertainment, January is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the marvelous weather, there's much to keep us all busy this month!
This month's top events include the Art Deco Weekend and International Chocolate Festival. In the entertainment sphere, Hamilton, the musical closes this month at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Cher is in town and Marvel Heroes swarm both the BB&T Center and the AmericanAirlines Arena.
Sports fans won't be dissapointed, the Miami Heat and the Florida Panthers are well underway on their regular seasons and for runners and fans, the Miami Marathon is here, don't miss the stunning course with even more stunning sights.
For our nature lovers, this is the perfect time to get out and soak it all up, our State and National Parks are teeming with wildlife, enjoy!

Art Deco Weekend
Hosted by the Miami Design Preservation League, the Art Deco Weekend is a tribute to the Art Deco era and involves a series of
top notch events over this three-day weekend including Classic Cars, the Parade, Fashion Shows, children's performances, Films and Lectures,
Live Music, Antiques, Street Festivals and more.
In addition, the League sponsors an array of great specialty tours offered uniquely during the weekend.

South Beach Jazz Festival
A jazz festival unlike any other, the South Beach Jazz Festival will take pride in featuring talented musicians with disabilities.
This first edition will take place throughout various venues on Miami Beach, and will be
a combination of ticketed concerts as well as free performances open to the public.
When? Friday through Sunday January 4 - 6, 2019
Where? Several venues. Performances will take place at the Colony Theatre and on stages set up throughout Lincoln Road.

Fairchild's International Chocolate Festival
Calling all chocolate lovers! This weekend is all about chocolate at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens.
Featuring cooking demonstrations and samplings as well as lots of activities for kids, learn how chocolate is made and hundreds of ways to cook with chocolate.
When? Friday to Sunday January 25 - 27, 2019 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

The Miami Marathon and Half-Marathon
A fantastic weekend of running events that culminate with the renowned Miami Marathon on the final day. 25,000 runners, a beautiful course, fantastic views, electric atmosphere! Runners and spectators alike will enjoy what has to be one of the most stunning courses, passing along some of Miami's classic landmarks: Port of Miami, Art Deco District, the MacArthur Causeway...
There is also a Half Marathon or Tropical 5K and Kids Run.
When? Sunday January 27, 2019 starts 6:00 am
Where? Start point is American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami. Finish line at Bayfront Park.
How Much? Registration Fee for Marathon $110, Half Marathon $95. Spectators FREE along the race course.

Miami Lantern Light Festival
A spectacular evening of dazzling lights, colors, shapes, and themes.
The Lantern Light festival is a six week celebration of Chinese culture featuring massive lanterns, inspiring performances, and incredible cuisine.
Each Chinese lantern is custom-built by Chinese artisans and typically takes four weeks and a team of seven to complete.
The lanterns are handmade from hundreds of pieces of silky cloth. Some are over 30 feet high and others are up to 300 feet long.

Family Fun Fest at Biscayne National Park
Family Fun Fest is a FREE program at Biscayne National Park brought to you thanks to the many volunteers and park sponsors.
It is held on the second Sunday of the month during the "dry and cool" season, December through April with lots of fun and educational activities for kids and adults alike.
This is the first program of the 2018-19 season, come and join in!
