With the cooler weather approaching and hurricane season behind us, November is a great time to head outdoors. Beaches are still balmy but the scorching days are over.

Miami in November celebrates several exciting festivals and holidays: a weekend of NASCAR racing and the Miami Book Fair are back this year.
The Concert and Entertainment Calendar is busy this month with Marc Anthony, the Jonas Brothers and many more. Andrea Bocelli makes an appeareance at the newly-remodeled guitar-shaped Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.
In sports, the Dolphins, the Canes, the Panthers and the Heat are well underway in their regular seasons.
Thanksgiving is upon us and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Jungle Island brings us Luminosa! a fantastic lantern festival... and also adding that magical sparkle, NightGarden Light Spectacular is back this year at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens. The Miami Book Fair International produced by the Center for Literature and Theatre at Miami Dade College is one of the nation's finest literary gatherings. But it's more than reading and books, lots of activities are planned also for kids including arts-and-crafts and theater events.

Luminosa! Festival of Lights at Jungle Island
A Chinese Lantern Festival with a very Miami tropical twist! Taking place in Jungle Island where 13 acres of the park's environs will be decked out with humongous brightly lit silk lanterns featuring four different themes portraying the diverse animal and plant life found in the park. Certainly a fantastic way to explore wildlife and adventure in a new light. The exhibits will be a very festive addition to the holidays!

Christmas Tree Lighting at Bayfront Park
The official kick off to the holiday season in downtown Miami takes place as Bayfront Park unveils its 50-foot tree covered with glittering lights at the new Bayfront Marketplace popup: Bayfront Holiday Village.
The Village will be open throughout the holiday season and host great entertainment options: a collection of hand-picked shops where you can pick out that perfect gift, roller skating rink around the tree and fountain, top food truck eating options, scavenger hunts and even a Santa Paws Dog Park so you can bring your furry friend along to the festivities.
When? Saturday, November 30, 2019, tree lighting at 7:30 pm. Holiday Village will open throughout the holiday season daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm

Auditions for "South Florida Kids Got Talent" Competition
Talented kids from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties are invited to The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale to audition for "South Florida's Kids Got Talent," a singing competition held as part of Tri-Rail's "Rail Fun Day." The competition is open to solo or group singers who are South Florida residents ages 5-17.
Each act will have a 4-minute opportunity to perform at the auditions. A panel of judges will select the acts that will compete in the final competition during Tri-Rail's "Rail Fun Day," a free family event on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Only one act will be selected to win the $500 grand prize.

Miami Design District Free Outdoor Concerts
The Miami Design District Performance Series kicks off in the fall and is a fantastic chance to enjoy live FREE outdoor concerts, our marvelous weather as it starts to cool off all wrapped in a fantastic South Florida atmosphere. The events are put together by the Knight Foundation, Design District developer Craig Robins and our very own Emilio Estefan and are free for all to enjoy. (THANK YOU!!!!)
The season normally starts in October and runs through the Holidays. Taking the stage on Friday evenings are performers in all sorts of genres from classical, pop, salsa... last year we had Gloria Gaynor, Jose Luis Rodriguez (El Puma), the Miami Symphony Orchestra... it's an eclectic bunch and regardless of who appears at Palm Court, it is always an enjoyable evening and a great way to kick start your weekend. And did I mention it's FREE?!!!

These are live classical music performances by the New World Symphony which are projected into a 7,000 square-foot wall at the New World Center for thousands to enjoy in a fantastic outdoor atmosphere.
