Miami Book Fair International

Miami Book Fair

The Miami Book Fair International produced by the Center for Literature and Theatre at Miami Dade College is one of the nation's finest literary gatherings. It is 8 days of book parties, readings, street fairs and the highlight "Festival of Authors", which with over 350 participating renowned names in the literary world.

But it's more than reading and books, lots of activities are planned also for the little ones including a "Children's Alley" for kids, a fun learning zone featuring the wonders of music, science, art, storytelling, world cultures, health and even coding workshops.

When? November 14 - 21, 2021
Where? This year it will be a hybrid fair, many events will be livestreamed and available online at www.miamibookfaironline.com with the Street Fair from November 19 - 21, 2021 in downtown's central business district surrounding the Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus, which will be closed to street traffic.
How Much? Pay-what-you-can pricing for several livestreams. Tickets are needed for the Street Fair and the "Evenings With..." series author presentations.

The official kick off to the holiday season in downtown Miami takes place as Bayfront Park unveils its 50-foot tree covered with glittering lights at the Bayfront Marketplace popup: Bayfront Holiday Village.

The Village will be open throughout the holiday season and host great entertainment options: a collection of hand-picked shops where you can pick out that perfect gift, roller skating rink around the tree and fountain, top food truck eating options, scavenger hunts and even a Santa Paws Dog Park so you can bring your furry friend along to the festivities.

Symphony In Lights Holiday Celebration at Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park Symphony in Lights

The entire property will be illuminated with more than 250,000 LED lights, all set to the sounds of holiday favorites from yesterday and today.

A 10-minute light show will begin at the top of every hour from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm

"Symphony in Lights" is not only the perfect opportunity to experience some holiday magic, but also to enjoy shopping, dining and boundless entertainment at Gulfstream Park Village's open-air setting.

When? November 13 - December 31, 2021, kick-off event on Saturday, November 13 from 7-10 p.m. Emmy award-winning newscaster Calvin Hughes will serve as the emcee and the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida will perform a lively set along with a 7-piece band. Even Santa Claus himself will ride in to kick off the festivities.

Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater Series

Fantasy Theater Factory Show

Fantasy Theater Factory is a non-profit organization that manages the Sandrell Rivers Theater, a state of the art black box theater in Miami. FTF places its greatest programmatic emphasis on Theater for Young Audiences which place a primary focus on childhood literacy and ecology. Other focus areas of programming include: fitness, history, diversity, self esteem, peer pressure and bullying prevention. FTF also produces cultural arts workshop residency programs that serve at-risk youth, children with disabilities and general population students.

Monthly lineups include a bi-monthly film screening series, a bi-monthly live music series, an art exhibition series and a new play competition, where playwrights can have their new works performed as staged readings in front of live audiences.

Each year FTF produces well over 500 programs, many are FREE and open to the public, some offered for a low nominal fee, in many cases if you are unable to afford a ticket, please call their box office, and they will be happy to reserve up to four (4) free tickets for your party.
